Overview of the Installation
This week, we are excited to showcase an innovative hybrid solution for a Industrial pallet racking. This installation that combines industrial pallet racking with manual picking capabilities. Spanning a surface area of 61,925 square feet, this installation provides an impressive total capacity of 18,960 pallets, each weighing up to 2500 LbS capacity. The unit loads are supported by three Unibuild bay configurations, reaching a height of 37.7 feet.
The Solution: Combining Pallet Racking and Manual Picking
To meet the challenging requirements of this project, integrated a highly demanding manual picking system within the industrial pallet racking framework. The solution features 13 ft high Bolted (Unirack) shelving units embedded within the Heavy duty (Unibuild) superstructure. This clever integration ensures efficient manual picking without compromising the overall racking system’s stability and functionality.
One of the key engineering challenges was the excessively high first pallet racking beam level. To overcame this by strategically positioning a Unibuild beam at a tactical height, making the seismic installation both feasible and secure.
